Will splitting reduce my image quality?
Original mode keeps the source dimensions and divides every row and column once. PNG avoids additional lossy compression. Fixed shapes resize or crop only when you select them. Your browser can apply color conversion, and exports do not retain the original file metadata.
What happens to my image?
It is opened and processed in this browser tab. The tool does not send it to a server or save it in browser storage. Closing or refreshing the tab clears the loaded image. Downloads stay wherever your browser saves them.
Why are some pieces a pixel wider?
When a dimension is not exactly divisible, original mode distributes the remaining pixels across the pieces. That keeps every row and column without adding borders. Fixed carousel shapes create matching output dimensions instead.
